Painting interior design?

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

The bed I have has a black headboard and I am planning on painting the wall behind it, but I do nt know what color would work with this. Any suggestions?

It really would depend on the colour of the rest of the room! But dark Grey would work or white! You can get some really nice wall papers that are like dark Grey with black patterns that would look really nice!

Is it true that some people just CAN’T DANCE?!!?

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

my brother and i started ballroom dancing at the same time and it just didn’t work…he would be told something over and over and over and still he couldn’t get it. while the moves came very easily to me. can some people truly NOT dance?

Yes, I am one of them. To be able to dance, a person needs a bit of coordination, and RHYTHM. If you can’t get your feet/body to do what your brain is telling it, you don’t have the coordination. Rhythm comes naturally–at least in my opinion. Maybe your brother would be better at some other form of dancing–like tap or contemporary. Ballroom dancing may be the HOT type of dancing nowadays (thanks to the tv shows “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance”), but there are literally thousands of other types your brother could excel at.

—–

well, i think some people have a hard time following choreogrpahy and remembering the moves, and going at the right counts and so on. that’s if you wanna get into the technicality of it. but i think anyone can dance however they want. it doesn’t have to be professionally or taken seriously you can just dance in front of your mirror and be a total spaz but it’s still dancing. and people who dance just for fun might love it just as much as a professional dancer. so… i don’t know. your brother can probably dance but he can’t follow steps. but he can dance to his own beat, so to speak. haha!

Philosophers: How do you resolve the problem of evil?

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008
  • Simple; “evil” (like “good”) does not exist in any real form, and is merely a concept that has been invented to describe actions that harm us.

In reality, everyones actions are justifiable as everyone acts for the best interests of something. In this way, no-one truly thinks that what THEY do is evil, unless they have feelings of guilt from a morality that has been imposed on them.

  • What is Evil? define evil? What is considered evil to one would be considered normal to another. For good to prevail evil has to be defined so as it is impossible to define evil then your question has no solution

  • In my opinion you can’t resolve the problem of evil, humanity is made with a natural balance and where there is good, there will always be evil.

  • is a concept of a ruling class.
Without evil, good cannot exist. That is like Tao.
Actually , one can negate evil. without the good, the bad cannot exist.
    A harmony of balance.
I choose to stay in the middle of the extremes.

  • hmmm! Evil is as Evil Does. Do no Evil See no Evil Hear no Evil Think no Evil then it Does and never can exist. If Evil did exist before then it will diminish if given no heed, no fuel and it will close in on itself like the black hole it is. The black hole space and time everlasting existing only if given the cause for existence. Good however cannont then be given any measure and the abundance of good should then prevail having no measure what so ever?

  • Evil is an essential part of creation. But for the evil, no good can thrive. It is the evil which glorify the good. The world is created based on duality. Creation can be sustained only when there is duality like male and female, heat and cold, joy and sorrow, good and bad, poverty and affluence. For instance, if there is only one colour, say ‘white’, how any art form can thrive. Everything will be white only. The ups and downs of the life sustain us. If we are immersed in luxury for ever, we will commit suicide. The summer heat drives you to AC rooms and ice cream parlour. The snow fall drives you to the rooms where room heaters are installed. The hills are beauty because of the valley. The lake is beautiful because of the landscape. God has created varieties in every little creation. Hence we are able to live in this world. Hence they are very very essential for our life. Only thing is we should NOT harbour evil in our own selves. Sairam.

  • at the moment, therapy for my eating disorder
though gym membership and weight loss come in pretty close.

I cant forget though, the friends and relationships I am yet to have that will one day give me a real reason to get and stay well, they dont exist at the moment, but one day they will.

  • the most important thing in my life is going to sleep and knowing i get to wake up tomorrow because that makes me feel special because there will be a million people who didn’t get to wake up so i guess the most important thing is the moment :-]

  • right now…
    finding a purpose
and healing myself mentally, physically, and emotionally.

History Help!?

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008
  • I need your history book..

  • Well for starters England wasn’t the most powerful military in the world. England had the best and largest navy but her land forces were rather smal. Parts of the English army used in America were mercenaries from Germany.

You also should keep in mind that the war wasn’t a regular war. In regular field battles the English army was victorious over the continental army. But guerilla warfare is another story. It the same with the Germans in Yugoslawia during WW II, the US in Vietnam or the USSR in Afghanistan.

Finally the French support for the rebells (because the most powerful army in the world (which was the French army) kept the English army in Europe) helped to win the war.

  • Well the thing about that was that King George did not send many troops to Fight for Britian overseas but enlisted the people who were still loyal to him in America. So since many colonists joined the Continentals the British forces in America were being beaten as the capital of Britian. Keep also in mind that the french helped the deafet of the British Forces also in the revolution.

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

  • Impossible.

  • It’s called asexuality, and there is such a thing.

  • Is no life at all. ;)

  • Is no life at all!
    Love is life!

  • Well the world is almost without love.
People just **** they dont make love anymore.
Even though people still fall in love, it never lasts.

  • you could still be happy

maybe be a bit more “pure” too, who knows

i mean without love as in having a partner. with no love at all - no love for friends, family, etc, there’d be no reason to live.

  • seek out love….it’s what matters most in life…loved ones give you strength

  • My life is full of Love From my family and friends Plus i never will be without love I love myself

How do I get over stage fright and nerves???

Friday, January 18th, 2008
  • experience. keep doing it. concentrate on the material and connecting with the audience.

  • Continue on your comedic route. You’re bound to get used to performing in front of people, which in turn will help you get over your nerves. Practice makes perfect.

  • well i don’t do stand up comic but i have performed in front a big group of people and what i did to get over it was just stopped thinking about it and just did wut i had to do didn’t care about wut anyone else thought and come on now for you to try stand up comic i don’t think alot of people have the guts to even do that so just think stuff like that if u enjoy at wat u do it won’t matter where ur performing at and who it is for just think “f$#@ it!! that’s what i did and its worked out great.

  • I hope you improve on your improv. Your nerves are affecting your spelling. Seriously, it’s about confidence and faith in your material. Improv is friendlier. Even if you crash and burn, the audiences generally laugh even if you struggle. Stand up is less forgiving. Try out your material with a few friends. Better still, find a stand up class if you can and have professionals check out your stuff.

  • Ofcourse it will go away! I’m in a choir and just imagine your singing to your bestfriend or your boyfriend/girlfriend, or your favorite person (s) and just her/him/them! Or try even imagining singing to your dog or cat or animal, etc. Even if it’s not singing or acting, or maybe ‘Stand up Comedy.’ Or you could ask the stage director before the show to turn up the lights. If he/she does this, you won’t even be able to see the crowd. Just think “funny” thoughts!

  • this always works with me you can either… look above the audience and think there not there or you can also do which works for me best i tend to think i’m alone and say what i think or what i’m meant to say … if you do these you will be able to do this easily

  • one way to getting rid of stage fright is to have some of as the audience and pretend that you are on a stage and do what ever you need to do!!!!

  • That stress will never go away, not completely at least. But stress isn’t always a bad thing, it can be incredibly motivating and —when you’re on stage— give you an adrenalin rush that makes you do things you would have never thought possible.

I saw a comedian use his stage freight to his advanatage once. 50-cent rap music came blasting out from the speakers, and a big black guy came strolling out on stage with a gangsta limp. The music died down and he introduced himself with a queen’s English accent, and mentioned he was a little bit nervous—just a little. He turned around to reach for his drink, revealing heavily soiled white trousers. The audience loved it, bursting out laughing.
